https ://careers.evonik.com/en/about/meet-the-team/The Principal/Senior Research Associate- Cell Culture will perform routine and non-routine lab activities while adhering to safety, project, and documentation standards. This role supports mammalian cell culture process development, including cell banking, cultivation, media prep, analytics, equipment/waste management, and inventory tracking. The technician assists scientists and principal scientists, contributes to process improvements, and is responsible for writing protocols, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and supporting report preparation.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform, evaluate, and document cell culture processes in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures and follow all Cell Culture Lab procedures and ensure proper lab operations
  • Mastering the function and operation of laboratory instrumentation required for cell culture, including but not limited to biosafety cabinets, incubators, bioreactors, and process and quality analytical equipment.
  • Maintaining an inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, PPE and equipment.
  • Coordinating laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance, and new equipment introduction.
  • Overseeing general housekeeping, organization and improvement of laboratory and storage areas using 5S principles.
  • Staying current with SOPs and training; training new employees; actively participating in identifying and resolving safety issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist lab supervision as needed.REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education (M.Sc.) or 4 years (B.Sc.) in pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical engineering, biochemistry or related sciences preferred.
    • Previous experience in an industry lab environment. Excellence in bench operation skills for mammalian cell culture. Preferably, experience handling multi-factor screening.
    • Proficiency in English with strong documentation, writing, and basic arithmetic skills.
    • Ability to work in a biosafety-level 2 environment and wear required PPE, including respiratory protection.
    • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
    • Preferred proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; effective written and verbal communication.
    • Ability to perform computer-based work, stand or sit for extended periods, grasp objects, reach, stoop, and distinguish colors.
